On Friday, June 23rd. St. Teresa's council hosted an Exemplification of Charity, Unity & Fraternity Ceremony.
State Treasurer laid a wreath on behalf of the State Council.
Members of NL State Council Knights of Columbus presented a donation to NL Special Olympics. Thanks to all the councils that participated in Special Olympics events and for their donations. The Supreme Council of the order matched their donations and the State Council topped up for a total of $3500.00.
Dalton Assembly has been hosting a Fourth Degree High School Speaking Competition since 1984. For the past two years it has been held virtually, and it was exciting to get back to a live event on March 26, 2023 at the Knights of Columbus building in Carbonear.
Students from Ascension Collegiate in Bay Roberts, and Carbonear Collegiate participated. Faithful Navigator Eugene Hurley offered congratulations to all, and presented the awards
The three judges for the event seemed to be very excited about their role, despite having their work cut out for them. It’s never an easy task when you have such great speakers.
Annual Fourth Degree Speaking Competition at the O’Brien Hall on March 20, 2023. There was a grand total of 11 participants.
Faithful Navigator George K. Power presented the awards to each student.
Aannual Regional Fourth Degree High School Competition during March, 2023. Schools from St. Albans, Conne River, and Harbour Breton participated.
Sir Knight Kevin Organ presented awards to the 4 students, and Faithful Navigator Pat Pittman thanked the 3 judges for their interest, and making themselves available for the competition.
F.N. Eugene Hurley of Dalton Assembly presents a certificate of appreciation to the Carbonear Volunteer Fire Department who continually ensure that the lives, homes, and properties of residents are kept safe and secure.
Congratulations to Sir Knight Colin White on receiving his Fourth Degree Honorary Life card and certificate on March 16, 2023. SK Colin joined Our Lady of Perpetual Help Fourth Degree Assembly in Stephenville May 1, 1987.
On Friday, March 3, 2023, Father Emmanuel, Faithful Friar of Dalton Assembly in Hr. Grace became a Canadian citizen.
Father was sworn in Friday morning at the Town Hall in Harbour Grace, and the Immaculate Conception Parish held a celebration reception for him during the evening.
Faithful Navigator Eugene Hurley and NL District Master Gerard Butt had the honor to attend this reception, and presented a Fourth Degree certificate to Father Emmanuel.
Congratulations on obtaining Canadian citizenship, Father Emmanuel. We are overjoyed to have you as a member of our beautiful country!

At the funeral Mass of Sir Knight Tom Hedderson, Fourth Degree members from Dalton Assembly, Harbour Grace showed up at the request of Tom's family and their presence was greatly appreciated in Brigus at St. Patrick's Church on Saturday morning, August 13 at 10:00
On Sunday August 14th at 3:30pm, the Legion of Mary hosted its annual outdoor Rosary at Our Lady of Lourdes Grotto in Flatrock next to St. Michael’s Church. Sir Knights from the Assemblies in the immediate area provided an Honor Guard.

Grand Knight Phillip Hurley organized a Hot Roast Beef fundraiser for Mary Doran . Mary Doran has been a bartender at Columbus Club in Carbonear for many years. Mary was diagnosed with some health problems and required her to travel to St. john’s from Carbonear for treatments . So members went right to work with a Hot Roast beef takeout fundraiser . It was a huge success. With a few donations and the Hot Roast Beef results a check was presented to Mary for the amount of $2410.00 thank you to everyone who made this possible we wish Mary a speedy recovery”

The families were treated to Tea, Coffee and the kids to Hot Chocolate and bottle water , Tim Bits.doughnuts and muffins . The families was given a certificate for their hard work . Also the a CWL along with the knights of Columbus gave away two little Nativity Scenes that were brought back from Rome by Grand Knights wife Susan Hurley and CWL District President Ellen Merrigan . Also St Patrick’s parish donated an Advent calendar to give away to the kids .

On Saturday March 18th Monsignor Mccarthy Council #5902 Knights of Columbus Carbonear community Director Grand Knight Phil Hurley and members held a community breakfast for St Patrick’s Day great turn out over a 100 breakfasts was served. All money raise went to Msgr Mccarthy Council charities.
On Sunday May 14th Mother’s Day Monsignor Mccarthy Council # 5902 Knights of Columbus Carbonear Celebrated all Mothers on Mother’s Day . Grand Knight Phil Hurley along with the members cooked and prepared a Hot Turkey Dinner to say thank you to all moms
There was also a beautiful back drop where families could gather and take pictures .
