   An appreciation plaque to Dennis Jones who served as our Council’s Treasure and Bingo coordinator for the past seven years. On behalf of our Council, we would like to thank Dennis for his dedication, and we look forward to his continuing involvement in our Council in the future.

    St. Kevin’s Council sponsored a KofC hockey Challenge for the U13 hockey team from Goulds Minor Hockey on December 21st. Participation certificates and winning trophies, as well as a pizza party was held at the conclusion of the event.

 5902  Preparing for Cemetery Mass 

 Members and friends of Msgr. McCarthy Council prepared and served up a special community breakfast on Carbonear Day. Our chaplain, Father Anthony, and Father Magnus offered the grace before the meal. Proceeds were donated to the Carbonear Volunteer Fire Dept.   

 Council 5902’s Community Director, Brother Knight Frank Butt made a presentation to Tri-Con Gentle Giants. Accepting on behalf of the Tri-Con Gentle was Brother Knight Ricky Duggan.  

  Council 5902 delivered 500 bottles of water to the front line for the first responders fighting the fires in CBN around Kingston.  Msgr. McCarthy Council has offered whatever resources that it can provide to the CRC, including accommodations and food preparation.  Camp McCarthy is now home to Volunteer FireFighters assisting in controll

  Msgr. McCarthy Council 5902 continues to support Volunteer Firefighters who are staying in this area with accommodations and meals at Camp McCarthy. We are grateful to welcome firefighters from places like Lab City, Gambo, Northern Arm, Lewisporte, Grand Falls-Windsor, Deer Lake, Gander, New-Wes-Valley, and more, as they help with the CBN Wildfire, 2025.

The Knights of Columbus Parish Family of the Month was presented by PP Father Anthony to the O'Keefe Family for their inspiration to our parish, community and council by supporting and strengthening Catholic Family Life.

Msgr. McCarthy Council's Community Director Frank Butt, and Deputy Grand Knight Brent Sweeney presented a donation of $1,000 to the CVFD, and a certificate of appreciation. 2nd Assistant Chief Don Antle accepted on behalf of the CVFD.

3 new Knights joined Msgr. McCathy Council at St. Patrick’s Church on Sunday afternoon.  Father Emmanuel also attended, and advanced to the third degree.
The Exemplification was conducted in memory of Brother Knight Jerry Pumphrey.

 The Carbonear Volunteer Fire Department held its 52nd Annual Firefighters’ Ball at the Knights of Columbus building on Saturday, Oct. 4, 2025. During the Banquet, Firefighter, Carbonear Mayor, K of C Community Director Frank Butt, and FireFighter, Deputy Grand Knight Brent Sweeney presented the CVFD with a check for $1,000 in support of the local brigade.

. Monsignor McCarthy Council 5902, family, and friends continue the legacy of Blessed Michael McGivney by helping others and undertaking whatever needs to be done in the parish and in the community. On Saturday morning a lot of members came together for breakfast and fellowship. Father Anthony, our Council Chaplain, blessed our volunteers, and prayed the grace before our meal

 Ville Marie Council # 10599, Marystown, collected 720 pounds of food items and $204 cash donations, for Helping Hands Family Aid during the 2025 Christmas parade.

 The Knights of Columbus donated $500, plus an additional $400 received from the Knights of Columbus Supreme Office Food for Families initiative. For every $500 or 1000 lbs of food donated to local food banks , the Supreme Office will refund $100 to the council; up to $500 per fraternal year. Merry Christmas!

 Ville Marie 10599 made a $300 donation to St. John’s Archdiocese seminarians fund 

 The Knights of Columbus donated an additional $500

  Thanks to Aylwards Home Hardware for donating use of their truck and some friends from the Philippine community for helping us. Merry Christmas to all!  

   

Ville Marie Council 10599, Marystown, recently made a cheque presentation to Nora Gaulton of the Helping Hands Food Bank. The cheque covered $155 collected during the Marystown Kinsen/Town of Marystown Santa Claus Parade and $400 received from Supreme Council under the Food for Families refund program.

 Ville Marie Council 10599, Marystown, presented Rosaries to twenty three young parishioners from Sacred Heart Parish, on the occasion of their First Holy Communion and Confirmation. Rosaries were blessed by Archbishop Peter Hundt

 Ville Marie Council 10599, Marystown, donated $300 to The Merge to sponsor a community meal; helped serve and clean up after the event. The Merge is operated by Calvary Pentecostal Church, and has a bi-weekly meal, which is available to all community members to attend. Various community groups and individuals contribute to The Merge to sponsor a meal.
 

National Flag Day

 Our Lady of Perpetual Fourth Degree Assembly in Stephenville braved the wind and the cold to officially raise the Canadian Flag on National Flag Day, February 15 2024.

 Dalton Assembly 1645 in Harbour Grace commemorated Canadian Flag Day (February 15) with Mass at St. Joseph's Church, Father Emmanuel as celebrant. Faithful Navigator Eugene Hurley read a Flag Day Proclamation before Mass. The Fourth Degree Color Corp provided the Honor Guard, Flags were distributed, the congregation sang O Canada, and following Mass, Cake and refreshments were served. Three State Officers, including State Deputy Gary Gallagher were in attendance.

Faith Development Process Gatherings

On February 24, District # 9 , along with Brother Knights from council 2581 Archbishop Howley in Corner Brook and Council 8555 Archbishop Neil McNeil in Pasadena,

Started our series of COR faith development gatherings during Lent at The Most Holy Redeemer Cathedral in Corner Brook. Our first gathering was related to praying the new

way of the Rosary and discussions .

 

There were 16 Brother Knights at our first gathering and another gathering next Saturday, March 2 at 10:00 am. We were very fortunate to have with us:
